A decision on whether more soldiers will be charged over Bloody Sunday is to be made today.
It's understood the the Public Prosecution Service has been reviewing decisions not to take action against more than a dozen of the 18 soldiers reported to them.
Last year, it decided only one veteran known as Soldier F would be brought before the courts.
Thirteen people were killed and 15 wounded when the Army opened fire on civil rights demonstrators in Derry/Londonderry in January 1972.
The cases have been looked at again by a different prosecutor at the request of some of the families and their legal teams.
They believe around 10 other soldiers should face prosecution for murder and attempted murder.
Relatives also want to see Soldier F face additional charges.
A decision is expected this afternoon.
