Convict councillor Patrick Clarke's to appeal a three-year ban from being a councillor.
The former Alliance councillor was sanctioned last week for breaching the code of conduct.
The adjudication hearing was the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.
It's understood he plans to challenge the decision in the High Court.
Clarke's convicted of defrauding two community groups, and of sexual harassment.
He's serving three seven-month sentences suspended for three years.
