Waterways Ireland is planning to build a €4.95 million project that runs between Fermanagh and Monaghan.
It's a new tourist trail called Ulster Canal Greenway, that's hoped to be completed by 2020.
The trail will run from Middletown in Armagh to Smithboro in Monaghan along the route of the old canal.
Then there will be a connecting 34km route from Clones to Enniskillen, that goes through Newtonbutler and Lisnaskea along the way.
The trail will run through disused railway lines and public roads.
