'Extremely vulnerable' man locked in kitchen and robbed of Christmas money

A man who is said to have severe learning difficulties, has been assaulted and robbed in County Armagh.

The victim, who is in his sixties, had lifted his Christmas money from the post office in the Cullyhanna area on Saturday.

The robbers assaulted the man before stealing the money from his pockets and locking him in the kitchen. 

They then stole a number of other items from the house before fleaing the scene.

A number of residents in the area have voiced their anger over the attack. 

Slieve Gullion Area Councillor Terry Hearty said:

"Those engaged in these type of dreadful crimes, need to be apprehended and face the full rigours of the law. 

Anyone who can give any information what so ever about this disgusting act should give it to the PSNI immediately. 

I am only to willing to help catch these thugs who terrify in particular the most vulnerable members of our community, so people can feel free to contact myself if they do wish".
