A driver and her passenger have been left shaken following an attempted hijacking in Portrush.
Two men approached the car on the Crocknamack Road just after 11pm, and tried to pull them out of the vehicle.
The woman driving managed to drive away. No-one was injured.
Detective Sergeant Wallace said, “Around 11:10pm it was reported that a red Volkswagen Golf had stopped to turn left on the Crocknamack Road, Portrush when two males approached the vehicle which was being driven by a female. It was reported the men gain entry to the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver and passenger from the vehicle however the woman drove off from the scene. Although no injuries, the driver and passenger were left badly shaken following the incident."
“We continue to appeal for information following these incidents and anyone with any information should contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2166 21/12/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
