The Bushmills Road Filling Station in Coleraine was robbed at knife-point last night.
MLA Maurice Bradley who was going into the shop just after the robbery happened said: "I was informed that the shop was closing as it had been robbed at knife point and a sum of money had been stolen from the till."
Bradley continued: “I believe this is the 28th robbery at this filling station over the years, and as far as I am aware, no-one has ever been brought to justice.
This is a business in the town providing a necessary service, it is popular and a busy forecourt and shop.
The staff are shaken, but thankfully no-one was hurt.
There are precautions in place in the shop to limit the amount of cash available, but none-the-less this is a severe crime and a robbery.
I will be asking the PSNI to pursue all avenues of enquiry in an effort to have those responsible brought justice,” concluded Bradley.
