The men were rescued by a Prestwick and Girvan Coastguard Rescue helicopter last night

Five people have been rescued after their boat sank off the west coast of Scotland.

The Belfast Coastguard received 999 calls from the men on the boat at around twenty to seven yesterday evening.

The Irish Coastguard assisted in tracking a precise location, while a Coastguard rescue helicopter from Prestwick and Girvan Coastguard Rescue Team winched everyone to safety.

All arrived back on land uninjured.
