Work's due to start soon on the "Forkhill Greenspace" project in South Armagh.
A half mile long nature pathway is to be built around the former Army base perimeter.
Agriculture Minister Michelle McIlveen announced the £350 000 path, co-funded by her department and Newry Mourne and Down Council.
She says it will enable locals to exercise in a safe environment.
There'll also be an outdoor classroom.
