Four further covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours.

The Department of Health has also confirmed 1,035 positive cases of the virus in the same period.

A total of 2,722,452 vaccines have been administered in total in the region.

The department's full covid-19 dashboard will be updated on Monday.

The latest news comes as Stormont's Health Minister is suing Van Morrison after the singer branded him “very dangerous” over his handling of Covid-19 restrictions.

The legal action focuses on a high-profile incident at the Europa Hotel in Belfast in the summer when Sir Van, a vocal lockdown critic, took to stage and criticised Robin Swann.

The defamation proceedings also cite two subsequent incidents when the singer elaborated on his views on Mr Swann.
