North Antrim MLA Paul Frew has condemned the actions of 'idiots' who have scattered felt nails all over the Ballylig Road in Broughshane.
He was contacted by several residents who live on the country road who were 'very angry and frustrated' that this incident has taken place .
Hundreds of felt nails were scattered all over the road, puncturing many vehicle tyres.
It occurred in the early hours of 8th July, but Mr Frew says it's not the first time it's happened, which to him rules out any accidental coincidence.
Some residents were out early next morning and cleared up as best they could, thankfully reducing the damage and the risk posed by this 'stupid act' .
Mr Frew says this action was very dangerous and has put people's lives at serious risk and not for the first time .
Police are investigating and he would appeal to anyone who knows what happened to contact them .
Mr Frew is also asking residents to remain vigilant.
