John Boreland was gunned down in the north of the city last Sunday.
Mourners gathered at the Moravian Church on the Old Park Road on Saturday morning.
Detectives say tensions among loyalist paramilitaries and criminality are among lines of enquiry.
A 42-year-old man arrested has been released unconditionally.
Police continue to appeal for information.
