BE Aerospace jobs in Kilkeel may not be under threat.
That's from the president of the town's Chamber of Commerce Cliff Coulter.
His comments follow speculation that a buy-out would prompt new owner Rockwell Collins to shed jobs.
The US cockpit supplier bought the local manufacturer in a multi-billion pound deal.
Mr Coulter says recent indicators point to a positive outcome for the 830 employees in Kilkeel.
He said, "We're looking forward and we know we have a great workforce out there so we're hoping everything turns out well."
