Heartless thieves have broken into the home of a well known musician from Derry - Londonderry who was found dead earlier this month.

A major appeal was launched to help find Stephen Martin after his car was found abandoned at Fanad Lighthouse in Co.Donegal.

The 29 year old , known by the stage name of 'Rainy boy sleep' , was later found dead at Strandhill beach, Co Sligo on August 14th.

A guitar, keyboard, and a sum of cash are among the items which have gone missing from his home in the Great James' Street area of Derry.

The Burglary occurred between 10.30am on Thursday 11th August and 11.30am on Friday 12th August.

The PSNI say his family are keen to have the items returned home.

Constable Evans said : “Sentimental items were stolen, including a blue electric Stratocaster guitar, a keyboard, a sum of money and assorted musical equipment. Stephens’s family would appreciate any helping in locating these items."
