Hundreds protest calling for Arlene Foster to resign as First Minister

It comes after Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness says it would be in public interest for her to "step aside"

Protests were held in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry last night - and the message to the First Minister was loud and clear.

Hundreds took part in a People Before Profit demonstration outside Belfast City Hall. 

The party's West Belfast Assembly member Gerry Carroll says Arlene Foster needs to call it a day permanently, not just for six months.

These people say they're disgusted by the scandal.

It comes after the Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness says it's in the public interest for his Partner in Government to "step aside" and allow an investigation into a controversial green energy scheme to take place.

The Renewable Heat Incentive was set up by Arlene Foster when she was Enterprise Minister.

The DUP Leader will face a motion of No Confidence when she addresses the issue in the Assembly on Monday.
