£140m allocation for Strule Shared Education Campus - but project delayed

£140 million has been allocated to develop the Strule Shared Education Campus in Omagh.

The Secretary of State says when it's finished the former Lisanelly Army Base will become the largest integrated campus in Northern Ireland catering for more than 4,000 pupils.

The project involves the construction of five post-primary schools and one special school, Arvalee, which is already on site. 

We're told it will encompass a range of shared educational facilities, including a shared education centre, sports centre and multi-use pitches.

The campus had been due to open in 2020, but on a visit to the site on Monday Karen Bradley said it could be delayed until 2023...
