Lidl should hold a public meeting before planning to build their Newcastle store.

That's from South Down MLA Jim Wells.
The budget supermarket chain is in the early stages of applying for planning permission.
But the coveted site in affluent Tullybrannigan would be better used as a leisure centre.
Lidl has held private meetings and is to meet with the council.
