Lisa Dorrian's mystery murder and disappearance to feature in television documentary

The murder and disappearance of missing county Down woman Lisa Dorrian is to feature in new TV documentary series.

Yesterday was the 16th anniversary of Lisa's death and to mark the occasion her sister Joanne and dad John released two white doves in her memory.

The birds were released in Bangor close to the tree planted in Lisa's memory and which was the focus of a fresh appeal by the family.

Joanne says were for Lisa and her mother who died not knowing what became of her daughter.

Lisa was last seen alive at a party in Ballyhalbert Caravan Park on February 27 2005.

There have been extensive searches of the area, including of a disused airfield in 2019.

The family is pleading for information that will help  recover Lisa’s body:

Director Brendan Burn said that the series called Murder in the Badlands, will air  in early 2022 and will highlight how women were often victimised on the fringes of ‘The Troubles’:
