Cullybackey-born Northern Ireland captain and Ballyclare World Superbike champion are two prominent local recipients in the Queens Birthday Honours.

Both received MBEs.

Meanwhile, North Antrim organist Margaret Brown, wife of former Presbyterian moderator Dr Godfrey Brown, was awarded a BEM for services to music:
