Locals warned of 'panther' on the loose in Newry area

A creature matching the description of a panther has been seen in the Moneymore Road area of Newry.

Vigilance is being urged in the Moneymore Road area after reports of what could be a blank panther on the loose.

Newry and Mourne police said a resident called in a sighting of a large, black cat walking on the road.

Anyone who sees the animal is warned NOT to approach it but to dial 101 immediately. Quote reference number 381 16/06/17.
