An inmate from Magilligan Prison has died in hospital.
The 62-year-old died on Friday.
The PSNI, Coroner and Prisoner Ombudsman have been informed in line with standard practice.
Ronnie Armour, director general of the Northern Ireland Prison Service, expressed his condolences to the family.
"On behalf of the Northern Ireland Prison Service, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of the prisoner," he said.
