Man arrested after women and children rescued from Belfast house fire

A woman and two children have been rescued after a suspected arson attack in Belfast.

Fire crews were called to Jellicoe Avenue in Fortwilliam at around 1am this morning.

The blaze which started in a car spread to a gas box and the eaves of a semi-detached house.

A woman in her 50s and two children aged 8 and 13 and to be rescued but they weren't hurt.

The PSNI says a 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life with intent.
