Residents of a house in Portadown have been left badly shaken following an attempted burglary.

Two suspects forced entry into the property in the Bachelor's Walk area, at around 3.15am yesterday morning.

However, the pair fled the scene when they disturbed the homeowner.

There were no reports of any injuries.

One of the suspects is reported to have worn a scarf which was pulled over his face, with his hood up.

The second suspect is said to have been wearing what was described as a dark-coloured coat and had his face covered with a scarf.

A short time later, a silver Audi A3 car was stolen from a house in the Margretta Park area.

Two people in their 80's were inside the property at the time.

Neither were physically injured, however, they have been left badly shaken.

Police say they recovered a bicycle while they were in the Margretta Park area, which is believed to have been taken during a burglary at a property in the Killycomain Road area.

A second bicycle, described as a red ‘Voodoo Hoodoo’ Mountain Bike was also reported stolen from this property.

A 27 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary and attempted burglary, theft of a vehicle, and possession of a Class B controlled drug. He is currently in custody assisting us with our enquiries.

A spokesperson for the PSNI says, "We believe, at this time, these three reports are linked, and would appeal to anyone who has information about any of these crimes to get in touch."
