A man has died and a second has been injured in a road crash in Co Down.
Police have appealed for information after the two-vehicle collision in Hillsborough on Thursday.
Inspector Dave Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Police received a report at around 7.15am this morning of a collision involving a van and a car on the Ballynahinch Road.
“Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended.
“However, sadly, the man passed away at the scene.
“A second man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
“Diversions remain in place at the following junctions with the Ballynahinch Road – Spirehill Road, Beatties Road and Tullymore Road.
“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 187 of 12/02/26.”
