Man escapes injury after shots fired at a house in Derry

A man has escaped injury after shots were fired into a house in Londonderry. 

Two shots were fired at the living room window of the property on Bonds Street in the city's Waterside area.

A man, aged in his 40s, was in the house at the time but was not injured.

It happened shortly after 10.35pm on Tuesday 20 December. 

Foyle MLA Gary Middleton said the motive behind the attack is unknown:

The PSNI is appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1328 of 20/12/16, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
