Paranoid schizophrenic Thomas Scott McEntee, 41, has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for life with a minimum term of 10 years for the manslaughter of pensioners Michael and Marjorie Cawdrey who he killed at their home in Portadown, Co Armagh in 2017.

McEntee, 41, stabbed the husband and wife, both 83, multiple times when they returned from their weekly shopping trip to find him committing a burglary.

McEntee, who was arrested in a nearby field of cattle hours after he killed the pensioners, had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
