Police are appealing for information and witnesses following an overnight assault in north Belfast.
Local policing Sergeant Green said: “Police received a report that a man had been injured following an altercation in the Castleton Gardens / Limestone Road area at approximately 4.30am on Saturday, 1st June.
“The victim, aged in his 30s, alleged that a number of men, one of whom was armed with a weapon which he believed to be a screwdriver, approached him and assaulted him.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which, at this time, are not believed to be serious.
“Our investigation is underway to determine the circumstances and a motive for the assault.
“I would appeal to anyone who may be able to assist with our investigation or has CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to contact us on 101, quoting reference 308 of 01/06/24.
