A man has died after being shot by gardaí in Dublin during the search for missing student Jastine Valdez.
The 24 year old – who is originally from the Phillipines - was reported missing on Staurday by her parents.
It followed reports of a woman being forced into a car near Enniskerry in Co Wicklow.
Gardai stopped a car they believe was linked to the incident yesterday evening in the Cherrywood area of Dublin.
It's understood the driver then came towards officers with a knife.
He was shot and taken to Hospital for treatment but later died.
The search is now continuing for Jastine.
Detectives believe the abduction was completely random and Jastine did not know the man involved.
Gardaí are appealing for any information, including anyone who saw the vehicle at the centre of the search anytime between Saturday evening and 8.00pm on Sunday.
Jastine is described as being around 5ft in height, of slight build with long black hair and brown eyes.
When last seen, she was wearing a dark coloured jacket, white t-shirt, grey leggings and runners.
