A man has been shot in the leg in a paramilitary style attack in Derry / Londonderry.
It's understood two masked men entered a bookies near the Creggan Shops at around 8.30pm on Monday evening.
The victim, believed to be in his early 20's, has been taken to hospital for treatment.
A local councillor has told QRadio news the victim was shot near the knee.
The man had been playing football nearby before entering the bookmakers to play a machine.
A number of people were in the premises at the time, whilst a large crowd of young people were gathered outside.
Sinn Fein's Kevin Campbell said "This shooting serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever.
"We now have a young local lad in hospital, and guns on our streets will achieve absolutely nothing.
"The shops was crowded with young ones all streaming out of the youth club to witnessed this.
"This shooting serves no purpose whatsoever and those responsible need to answer to this community."
