Man shot in paramilitary attack in Belfast

A 30-year-old man has been shot in both legs in a paramilitary-style attack in north Belfast.

It happened in the Velsheda Court area of Ardoyne around 9 last night.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment however his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Sinn Féin Councillor Gerry McCabe has condemned the shooting.

 

The North Belfast Councillor said: “A man was shot in the legs tonight in Velsheda Court in Ardoyne.

 

“I condemn this shooting outright. “There can be no place for these type of actions in our society. “The people responsible need to end their campaign against the community. “I would encourage anyone with information to bring it forward to the police.”
