A man's been taken to hospital with a suspected fractured skull following a serious assault in North Belfast.
It happened in the Queen Victoria Gardens area just after shortly after 12 this morning.
It's reported the 32 year old victim was attacked by a group of men wielding either hammers or baseball bats.
He also suffered a deep cut to his head.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a 32 year old man in the Queen Victoria Gardens area of north Belfast around 12.20am this morning. Witnesses asked to call 101 quoting reference 27 06/01/19.

Detective Sergeant Corrigan said:
“Shortly after 12.20am police received a report that a 32 year old man had been assaulted by a number of males with hammers or baseball bats.
"The man was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected fracture to his skull and a deep cut to his head."
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information which could assist us with our investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 27 06/01/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
