An elderly woman has been left badly shaken after a masked man broke into her home in east Belfast.
It happened in Madrid Street at around 7.45pm last night.
Police say the intruder entered the house and used force to take a handbag from the pensioner.
The woman, who was in her seventies, was not physically injured during the incident.
The suspect has been described as being tall, of thin build and wearing a dark-coloured jacket and what was described as a "scary" mask.
Anyone who was in the Madrid Street area last night, between 7:45pm and 8:05pm and saw any suspicious activity or has information regarding the incident, is asked to contact the PSNI on 101.
