A woman has been left badly shaken after a gang of five masked men broke into her home in north Belfast last night and smashed her phone.

Police say the men entered the rear end of her home in Glencairn Way at around 9:40pm, causing extensive damage.

All the windows of a car parked at the front of the property appear to have also been smashed.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said:

“It was reported at 9.40pm that a group of five masked men had gained entry to the rear of the property while the female victim had been at home with her young daughter and partner.

"The victim ran upstairs with her daughter as one of the suspects took her phone and smashed it.

“Extensive damage was caused to the rear of the property and all windows of a car parked at the front of the house were smashed.

“The suspects ran off in the direction of Forthriver Crescent.

“The victim was left badly shaken as a result of this and thankfully not hurt.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we would ask anyone with any information or who might have CCTV footage which may assist the investigation to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1827 24/02/22.”
