He has asked Robin Newton to reflect on his position over the Christmas period

The leader of the Ulster Unionist Party's written a letter to the Speaker of the Assembly asking him to stand down after Christams.

Earlier in the week, Mike Nesbitt claimed Robin Newtons position was close to untenable.

It's after he allowed the First Minister to make a speech about the green energy scandal - without the approval of Martin McGuiness.

Arlene Foster's actions resulted in a mass walk out in the chamber by fellow politicians.

The letter from the Strangford MLA has been made public.
