Donations to support a family after the death of their 9-year-old son in Tenerife have surpassed £9,000.

Carter Carson died after a hit-and-run on the Canary Island on Thursday.

His school, Abbotts Cross Primary Newtownabbey, has paid tribute to him, along with a number of others on social media.

A family friend, Charlene Dinnen, set up a justgiving page, and the target of £3,000 has been tripled.

Two men are being questioned over the incident.
