The Civil Aviation Authority says Santa Claus is permitted to use the airspace over Northern Ireland tonight.

Storm Barbara raised some fears about his travel plans because of the bad weather.

But the yellow weather warning has been lifted from the Met Office and air traffic control teams in Belfast and Derry are keeping in contact with pilots to make sure Father Christmas gets to every house on time.

Thousands of passengers will be on flights today to get home in time for Christmas and it is expected to be a busy day at our airports.

However, officials are working to ensure all flights take off and arrive before Santa nears the airspace over the UK and Ireland.

The Coastguard had also been informed of tonight's special circumstances and they've issued a warning for vessels to be on their guard if they see any reindeers or bright lights flying overhead.
