One more person has sadly died after contracting coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

This brings the Department of Health's death toll to 2,101 since the pandemic began.

169 individuals have tested positive for covid here in the past 24 hours - out of 1,836 individuals tested.

167 people in NI's hospitals have the virus - 16 of whom are in ICU.

It comes as a mass covid-19 vaccination centre is due to open in Belfast at the end of this month.

Patricia Donnelly, head of the vaccination rollout here, said the initial hope was that by the time the centre began operating the vaccine would be on offer to the over-40 age cohort.

However, it's now looking like over 40's may have to wait a further fortnight.
