Ian Paisley says the Boundary Commission's proposals for his constituency are a "monstrosity".
Writing in today's "Ballymena Guardian" the North Antrim MP describes the plans as "an attempt to re-wite the electoral map and gerrymander the identity and political direction of the country."
The number of House of Commons seats would be reduced from 18 to 17, a move likely to boost nationalist representation at unionism's expense.
The East Londonderry and North Antrim seats would also be abolished and absorbed into new larger Glenshane and Dalriada constituencies respectively.
