Pensioner left badly shaken after armed intruder enters her east Belfast home

A woman in her seventies has been left badly shaken after being threatened with a knife at her house in east Belfast. 

It happened after an unknown man gained entry the property and the woman's bedroom in the Belmont Road area shortly after 5am this morning. 

The suspect was then chased from the house by another man, also aged in his 70s. 

Although not injured, both the man and woman inside the property were left badly shaken.

“The man is described as 5”8 in height, wearing dark clothing and spoke with a local accent.

“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Detectives on 101, quoting reference number 197 03/09/20.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
