Elderly woman has a sum of money taken from Ballycastle
Police are appealing for information following a 'distraction burglary' in the Atlantic Avenue Area of Ballycastle, yesterday. An elderly woman had a sum of money taken by a man masquerading as a utility employee.
At around midday a man approached the house on Atlantic Avenue and asked the resident if he could check the cabling at the back of her property, to which she complied. The man then left abruptly and when the resident went back inside, she realised the sum of money was missing. Police have asked the public to contact them, if they saw anything untoward between 12 and 1pm on Tuesday 27th September.
Police are also advising people to treat any unknown callers with caution.
