A man and woman in their seventies have died in a road collision close to the Monaghan/Armagh border.
The car left the R213 road and ended up in a bog or marsh before 6pm at Killyneill Cross, near the Monaghan-Armagh border.
The two occupants of the car were removed from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
The road was closed yesterday and diversions remained in place.
Garda forensic collision investigators are set to examine the scene this morning.
