Plans lodged to demolish Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown

The owner of the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown where three young people died in March, has revealed plans to demolish the entire building.

Lauren Bullock and Morgan Barnard who were both 17, and Connor Currie who was 16 years-old died outside the Cookstown hotel before a St Patrick’s day disco on March the 18th.

Police said around 600 people were in the queue at the time.

Three months on from the tragedy, the venue’s owner Michael McElhatton has submitted a planning application to demolsh the hotel.

The proposal was received by Mid Ulster District Council on Tuesday.

It's understood the site would be replaced with five new detached houses and garages.
