Police investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in south Belfast today (18th February) are appealing for witnesses and information.

At approximately 6.30am this morning, a man entered a house on Delhi Street armed with what was described as a kitchen knife and demanded money from two occupants.

This incident was reported at around 8.15am.

The suspect, described as being tall and of a slim build with dark short hair, is reported to have worn a dark-coloured top and trousers, a surgical face mask, white shoes and yellow/black-coloured gloves.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "Thankfully, neither occupant was injured and the suspect fled empty handed after searching cupboards in the house.

"This was a frightening ordeal for the victims who have, understandably, been left shaken by this incident. Our enquiries are continuing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area prior to when the incident occurred, at around 6:30am, or just afterwards, who may have noticed anything out of the ordinary or any suspicious behaviour to get in touch.

"I would also urge anyone with information about this incident to call detectives at Musgrave on 101 and quote reference number 232 of 18/02/21."
