Police are appealing for information following a petrol bomb attack in Cookstown on Wednesday.

They think it could be linked to a previous incident in the town.

Inspector Stickland said: “Sometime between midnight and 12:50pm, it was reported that two petrol bombs were thrown towards a house in the Gortreagh Road area.

"One petrol bomb struck the driveway of the property and the second petrol bomb struck a front garden and went out.  No damage was reported to the property and there were no reports of any injuries."

The officer continued: “Enquiries are continuing and we are currently investigating a possible link between this incident and a petrol bomb attack, which left a car badly damaged in the Gortreagh Road area in February.

“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who has any information, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 773 03/03/21.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
