Q Radio understands a man has been shot dead during an incident outside a school in west Belfast.
It happened on the Glen Road shortly after 3pm this afternoon.
It's understood one man was shot multiple times during the incident near St Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School.
Local politicians say the man was waiting to collect a child from the school at the time.
Witnesses have described a masked gunman at the scene.
Police remain at the site and an investigation is underway.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were tasked to the scene but say no one was taken to hospital.
Parents are being asked to collect children from alternate entrances to the school at either the Caffrey development or the Kennedy Way end of the road.
Traffic is also being diverted along Kennedy Way and drivers are being told to expect delays.
Speaking from the scene, Cllr Tim Attwood said: “It is absolutely sickening that a gun was fired in the vicinity of both a primary and secondary school in west Belfast today.
“A number of pupils witnessed this fatality and are understandably very disturbed and frightened after this reckless act occurred nearby the school gates.
“There is absolutely no place for this in 2018; this madness belongs in the past and we cannot allow it to once again become our normality.
