Warrenpoint Harbour Authority has moved to reassure locals after a hazardous waste application was made.

Re-Gen Waste applied to build a facility to transfer and manage dangerous material at the port.

Calls have been made for a public consultation to which the company has agreed.

The Port Authority issued a statement saying it's urged the firm to ensure "complete transparency and engagement with the community".
