Regional airline flybmi are launching reduced fares from City of Derry Airport to London Stansted in the run up to Christmas.
More flights are also set to be put on over the busy festive period to accommodate the high volume of travellers.
flybmi currently operate two daily flights from the north-west to the capital with fares at £39 one way.
Airport Manager at City of Derry Airport, Charlene Shongo, welcomed the news.
She said: “flybmi’s reduced fares to London is very welcome news for our customers, particularly the high volume of business travellers using the service and also passengers from the North West who currently live in London for work/studies, and of course, those who want to explore London for sight-seeing, shopping or perhaps a West End show.
Black Friday deals are also expected to attract more customers to the airline this weekend.
