Roads upkeep budget won't stretch to routine fixes

The temporary budget for infrastructure projects across Newry, Mourne and Down district won't stretch to much-needed roads maintenance.

That's from Divisional Roads manager Simon Richardson who updated the council last night.

Cash has been made available to complete road widening and resurfacing schemes that are already underway, and completion of the Clough park and share extension.

They are expected to be finished within the next year.
