Robbers wearing face masks target town centre jewellery shop in Co Armagh

A jewellers has been targeted by thieves wearing face masks in Co Armagh. 

Two men entered the shop on Church Lane in Portadown at around 2pm this afternoon and threatened two staff members at knifepoint. 

The culprits made off with cash and jewellery in the direction of Obin Street. 

  

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Shortly after 2pm two men, both of whom were wearing facemasks, entered the jewellers on Church Lane.

"One of the males was armed with a knife which he used to threaten two members of staff.

"The robbers demanded money and jewellery. The pair then made off with both cash and jewellery in the direction of Obin Street.

"Both males are described as wearing navy blue tops and one male was wearing a grey flat cap."

Detectives have asked anyone who may have seen the two males leave the jewellers or at any time after the robbery, or anyone who recorded mobile phone or dash-cam footage,  to call 101 quoting reference 1073 08/08/20.
