Sinn Fein on offensive over Daisy Hill ED staff problems

MP Mickey Brady will lead a Sinn Fein delegation who will meet SOuthern Heath and Social Care Trust senior management later.

Sinn Fein will be on the offensive when they meet with Southern Trust officials later today.

There are just two emergency senior staff there - it needs at least ten, or to operate comfortably it needs 16.

The Trust has hinted at temporary closure of Daisy Hill's Emergency Department if staff shortage worsens.

But MP Mickey Brady says, "The proposals  by the Southern Trust in relation to the Emergency Department at Daisy Hill, flies in the face of the commitment from former Health Minister Michelle O Neill who announced after a recent visit to the Hospital,  that Daisy Hill  would be a key part of the acute hospital infrastructure."

Speaking ahead of the meeting he told Q Radio's Iveren McCallion that he'll be looking answers from the Southern Trust, he believes the buck stops there:
