"Significant improvements" reported at Muckamore Abbey Hospital

The authority which monitors health and social care services here - says there's been significant improvements at Muckamore Abbey Hospital.

In 2017 - allegations emerged that vulnerable patients were being physically and mentally abused by staff at the facility.

Since then, it's been under investigation and a number of people have been arrested and several workers have been suspended.

Last week, RQIA conducted a three day unnanounced inspection at the hospital including an overnight visit.
